Tiruchirapalli or Trichy is the fourth largest city in Tamil Nadu. It sits on the banks of river Kaveri. It is 320 km away from Chennai. The city is an interesting mix of tradition and modernism. The city landmark is the Rockfort Temple which is on a massive rock out crop in the midst of a plain topography. The fort and the city were built by the Nayaks of Madurai.
