Rajaji National park is situated along the Shivalik range at the foothills of the Himalayas. Known for its rich bio-diversity and magnificent eco system, the park covers an area of 820 sq km. and is the north western limit of the Asian Elephants. The park is home to wild elephants, tigers, leopards and deer along with some rarely seen sloth bears. The park has several distinct vegetation zones including grasslands; broadleaved deciduous forests and pine forests in the upper reaches. The park is open between November 15^th and June 15^th every year though the months from November to March are ideal for a visit. The best way to view the wildlife would be to take a Nature Safari or an Elephant ride through the lush green forests. The park attracts a large number of wildlife conservationists and nature lovers every year.

 Chilla, 13 kms away from Haridwar is the base for visiting the park and has good road links with the nearby cities like Haridwar, Rishikesh.and Dehradun. Jolly Grant airport is the nearest airport with daily flights to Delhi. Delhi is about 230kms away from the park.

 Entry Requirements: A permit is required to enter the park and these can be obtained at the entrance of the park. A permit for three days costs Rs 30 for Indians and Rs 350 for foreigners. If you intend to stay longer then every extra days costs Rs 20 more for foreigners and Rs 175 more for foreigners per day. You need to pay extra for cameras and vehicles.
