Poovar is a small coastal village in the Trivandrum district of Kerala.. History: Poovar was a trading center of timber, sandalwood, ivory and spices. It is believed that the trading ships of King Solomon landed in a port called 'Ophir', which is Poovar. Poovar has been one of the ancient Muslim settlements along the western coast of India.
