Hodka is one of the 31 Indian villages which are a part of the Endogenous Tourism project which seeks to promote local culture and craft based tourism for sustainable livelihoods and integrated rural development. Hodka is located in the North West region of the Kutch district about 60 kms away from Bhuj. The village was set up by the Halepotra from Sindh clan but Meghwals from the Marwar region in Rajasthan have also settled here.The Halepotras were originally cattle breeders whereas the Meghwala are leather craftsmen.
There are a range of activities for tourists visiting the HodkaVillage. Visitors can explore the village accompanied by the local guide, see the master artisans at wok, buy exquisite handicrafts of embroidery/patchwork, leatherwork, and decorative mud/mirror work, learn to play the traditional musical instruments or take a camel/jeep safari to the nearby Rann of Kutch.
